Access to quality education is a defining characteristic of
a sustainable community. Building on its work with charter
school facilities, LISC has expanded its focus, helping
organizations work with school districts, parent-teacher
groups, child care facilities, youth development and afterschool
programs to help make local education a force for
community improvement.
- LISC's Educational Facilities Financing Center (EFFC) finances charter and alternative school development.
- In 1994 LISC established the Community Investment Collaborative for Kids (CICK) to offer financial and technical assistance to develop new, quality child care facilities in neighborhoods that need them.
